5 Ways A Home Business Can Save You Money

When most people think of starting their own home business, they think of the income potential, the amount of free time that they will have to spend with family and the flexibility of making their own schedule. What if there were even more benefits to working at home? In fact, what if a home business could actually save you money in a big way? Five big ways, to be exact.

Gasoline. With gas prices fluctuating and, at times, being so expensive that colleagues are often forced to carpool, its no surprise that entrepreneurs who work at home will save big bucks in this area. If you arent commuting to work everyday and back home again, you could end up saving several hundred dollars each month just by having a home business.

Car mileage & repairs. The more you are on the road, the more miles your odometer records. Automobiles with high mileage often command lower resale and/or trade-in value, but may also wear out faster simply because of excessive use. When you travel a lot, your vehicle is more susceptible to flat tires, worn brakes and other needed repairs resulting from the everyday use of a vehicle. What if the only places that you had to go included common errands and recreational outings? Rather than racking up miles and risking a flat tire going to work, home-based entrepreneurs put the car in park and walk to the office.

Clothing. Have you ever gone on a job interview and found out that the company required a uniform or specific dress code for employees? Quite often, a new wardrobe isnt on the forefront of someones mind when they are searching for a job. Instead, meeting important family and household expenses are among the leading reasons why most people apply for employment. For those who choose a home business, there are no dress codes, no uniforms and no specific shoes that need to be worn. In fact, you can show up to work in your favorite t-shirt and shorts if you so desire.

Lunch. If you are a full-time employee, then you probably get a lunch break. Unless you bring your own, you will be dining out a lot. Whether you choose a fast food or casual restaurant, a daily lunch bill can really add up. Although you still have to eat lunch if you work at home, you will save a considerable amount of money by eating in.

Childcare. In families where both parents work and a child is too young for school, childcare expenses are a natural part of life. As many already know, hiring a babysitter or enrolling your little one in a daycare facility doesnt come cheap. More importantly, most parents would prefer that one of them be at home to take care of the child themselves. With household expenses and everyday bills, many families struggle with making this dream into a reality. A home business may be the answer. Why? Because it allows for one or both parents to work at home and be there to care for their children while still earning income. Not only will this result in financial savings, but will give everyone peace of mind in knowing that their children are being properly cared for.

As you can see, there are a number of ways that a home business can save you money. When you add each of these five options together, just think of the extra cash that you will have on hand for taking a family vacation which, by the way, a home business allows you the freedom to do.

Design Each Part of your Book to Sell More Copies

Whether you are an ebook author/publisher or a print book author/publisher, you can get your unique, helpful information. You'll help make other people's lives better, become a household name, gain clients, sell more books and make much more money when you design each part of your book to attract more readers.

Format and design your book's insides, front and back matter so it will sell the minute you publish.

Book Designing Check and Correct List For your Book's Front and Back Matter:

1. Put book cover in 4-color design as first page. Rather than do it yourself, hire a competent cover designer. For business books, check out MaxCovers.com. He designed four for me.

2. Create a title page after the cover with your publishing information, and copyright.

3. Make an extra testimonial page to insert right before your table of contents. Testimonials from the rich and famous, media, man/woman on the street, and happy readers convince others by their endorsement to make your book a top seller.

4. Include a list of your other books right before the table of contents to widen sales.

5. Create a table of contents (your chapter titles) and place below it your complimentary free bonus report title(s) and where to find them.

6. Put your one page sparkling "mini sales letter" introduction right after the table of contents.

7. Redesign of all fonts so your book will be easy to read. Easy to read books are the number one way to sell more books. Ordinary fonts are Arial and other sans serif fonts for the headings and Times Roman and other serif fonts for the copy.

8. Put in proper headings at the top and bottom of each page in the headers and footers. Put the title and page number at the top, and your name and Web site URL at the bottom.

9. Put the whole book in Portable Document Format PDF as well as Microsoft Word. You can edit the Word copy, and allow your customers to download the PDF file unless your offer your book via toll-free number. While PDF is not foolproof safe, it's a common form and if passed on doesn't allow they person to edit it. With your name and Web site there people know who the expert is.

10. List your products and prices at the end of the book along with a page on your coaching, speaking, or other services. You may want to add benefit-driven annotated table of contents for your other books at the end too.

When you include all these parts in your book, your increased new sales will surprise you.

Can We Save Astronauts from Space Radiation

One of the biggest hurdles to travel in space will be preventing space radiation from killing our astronauts. Long-term space flight may be impossible because it might take many generations. If so, the space radiation will prevent the reproductive functions on the human body from working and therefore the spaceflight can not be longer than one human generation.

Worse off is that human life expectancy will be cut short due to the space radiation unless special care is taken to protect the space travelers otherwise we have to send robots instead of people. Either way due to space radiation, this will mean new materials and specially designed spacecraft will be needed at minimum.

Here is a thought I have been toying around with. Let's use Carbon Nano-Tubes and Graphene sandwiches in a composite sheet configuration as the space ship's skin and structure. Next let's put water molecules in the carbon nano-tubes. Of course with multiple layers of carbon nano-tubes, it could be a great space application.

First we send up some mice in a space lab and see if they survive a couple of times around the solar system or out of the solar system bubble and back again. Maybe we might use lead atoms or a lead based compound - molecules inside the carbon nano-tubes?

It is worth a try and we really must solve this problem if we are to send astronauts to other worlds or be successful in orbiting space colonies or space colonies on the surface of planets which have little or no atmospheric shielding like Earth does currently.
